"Our goal is to use ocean sailing as a platform for companies to showcase their solutions to the race against climate change.  Together, a story  full of emotion and adventure can be told to stimulate real change."

About

is a professional ocean racer with a lifelong ambition to represent Great Britain in the Vendee Globe. A single-handed, non-stop sailing race around the world and the "Everest" of ocean racing.

Most recently, Will has been Co-skipper of the  IMOCA 60 Team Malizia who sailed the climate activist Greta Thunberg to New York Climate Summit in 2019. Here, he developed a true understanding of what it takes to create a successful ocean racing campaign.

Will has been part of Team Malizia since 2019 as co-skipper of German sailor Boris Herrmann, competing in double-handed races such as the Transat Jacques Vabre alongside Boris. During this time, Will has also been supporting the team as the meteorologist, navigator, speaker at partners events and more.

Boris competed in the Vendée Globe 2020, finishing 5th after a very close race. Will took on the role of helping Boris prepare for this race as well as supporting Boris during the race from the shore. He also helped communicate the tactics and weather of the race for the fans through weather video updates throughout the race.

A huge value and goal of Team Malizia is to aid scientists into collecting data in the most remote parts of our oceans. The racing yacht can become a zero-emission research vessel through onboard sensors measuring water and atmospheric data.

Throughout the Vendee Globe race, Team Malizia collected this data. With a BSc Oceanography degree, it was Wills role to liaise with scientists and Boris to ensure the valuable data was stored and transmitted to be used in research.

The goal has now been set. To complete another lap of the planet and collect the data along the way so that the two data sets may be compared and the impact on our oceans and atmostphere due to climate change may be measured.
